I just like to say a few thanks to those who helped me make this momentous ocassion possible. Firstly I'd like to thank God, and Jesus; my parents and family; the good people at Juicy's Car Rentals; my agent & personal trainer; to all those at Shell who put so much effort into the fueling system for this record; and lastly I'd like to thank all of you who believed in me and shared in the dream that is today!
(There may be detractors that will try and cheapen my achievement by saying that I deliberately drove an unnecessary 5km around and around a housing estate in Invercargil in order to reach this golden number; to those folk I say this: Your accusation is worryingly specific and hard to prove in a court of law, so there.)
